Tickets for Warriors, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis's musical about an all-female New York gang, go on general sale Thursday, October 22 at 10 a.m. ET, for Broadway previews from March 9, 2027 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.

The Lunt-Fontanne sits at 205 West 46th Street. The show inside it will spend its night trying to get out of the Bronx and home to the boardwalk.

Playbill announced the Broadway company on Tuesday. Jasmine Cephas Jones plays Swan and Amber Gray plays Ajax. The official opening is April 8.

What Is Warriors About?

Warriors is a new musical adapted from The Warriors, the 1979 Paramount film directed by Walter Hill, and from the Sol Yurick novel behind it. A Coney Island gang is framed for the murder of a rival leader at a citywide summit in the Bronx, and has one night to make it back across the city.

The twist is in who is running. In this version the film's male Warriors become an all-female crew, Playbill reports.

That does not make the whole company female. Two men are in the Broadway cast, and both play characters outside the Warriors. Casey Likes plays Luther, whom Playbill describes as the villain. On the 2024 concept album Luther leads the Rogues, kills Cyrus and pins it on the Warriors. Donald Webber Jr. plays Masai, who on the album takes over the Gramercy Riffs after Cyrus dies. Cyrus, the Riffs' leader who calls the truce, is played by Sasha Allen.

The official Warriors site bills the show as "a boundary-pushing adrenaline shot of a musical."

It's the heart of the city…the soul of a community…and the sound of something being born.

Who Is in the Broadway Cast?

Jones and Gray lead a company of eleven, per Playbill. The rest of the named cast reads this way.

Jaci Calderon plays Fox. Aneesa Folds plays Cleon. Julia Harriman plays Mercy. Sasha Hutchings plays Cowgirl. Gizel Jiménez plays Rembrandt. Kenita R. Miller plays Cochise.

Seven of the eleven reprise their roles from the concept album, which came out on October 18, 2024, with Nas as executive producer and Mike Elizondo as producer. They are Folds, Gray, Harriman, Hutchings, Jiménez, Jones and Miller. Likes switches parts, from Jesse of the Orphans on the record to Luther on stage. Calderon, Allen and Webber are new to the project.

The album leaned on famous guests. Playbill lists Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes, Marc Anthony, Billy Porter, Ghostface Killah, RZA, Colman Domingo and Cam'ron among them. On Broadway, the women who carried the record carry the show.

Who Is Staging It?

Jenny Koons directs. Andy Blankenbuehler co-directs and choreographs. Kurt Crowley supervises the music and orchestrates with Scott Wasserman and Elizondo.

David Koris designs the scenery, Dede Ayite the costumes and Natasha Katz the lighting. Jason Crystal handles sound, Hana S. Kim projections and Drew Leary the fights. Thomas Kail, Miranda, Luis A. Miranda Jr. and Jeffrey Seller produce.

How Do You Get Tickets?

General sales open Thursday, October 22 at 10 a.m. ET at BroadwayDirect.com, per Playbill. A Capital One cardholder presale and a presale for fans who pre-registered at the official site began Tuesday at 10 a.m. The official site says the fan presale runs until 9:59 a.m. on Thursday.

Two lotteries come later. Entries for $79 seats open January 11, 2027, a price the official site breaks down as $68.25 plus a $10.75 handling fee. A second lottery for the first two rows at $19.79, a price that echoes the film's 1979 release, begins March 9, the night of the first preview. More details are still to come.

What to Know Before You Go

Warriors plays the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, 205 West 46th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue. Previews begin March 9, 2027, and the show opens April 8. No closing date has been announced. The weekly roundup at New York Theater lists it among this week's biggest announcements.

Miranda already has one musical on a Manhattan stage this fall. City Center opens its season with In the Heights, his Washington Heights show, on West 55th Street.

On screen, the run from the Bronx to Coney Island takes one night. The women of Warriors get a whole winter to rehearse it.
