Off the Clock, John Oliver and Seth Meyers Return to the Beacon
Next Sunday brings another night of stand-up and audience questions in the comics' Upper West Side residency, with two dates left after that this year

Two late-night hosts walk onstage with a microphone each and nothing to hide behind. That is the whole idea.
On Sunday, October 25, John Oliver and Seth Meyers play the Beacon Theatre again. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., according to the venue's ticketing page on the Madison Square Garden Entertainment site, which describes a monthly residency running "through December 2026."
It is one of the quieter success stories in New York comedy. Two men who spend the working week behind a desk spend the odd Sunday without one.
How It Started
LateNighter traces the pairing to the 2023 Writers' Strike, when the two first performed together at the Beacon. They turned it into a residency in January 2024.
By April of this year, LateNighter reported, they had sold out more than two dozen shows. That month the pair added four dates for the back half of 2026, on September 27, October 25, November 22 and December 13. Tickets for those went on sale to the public on May 1.
The Format
Each comic does his own stand-up set, 45 to 50 minutes long by LateNighter's count. Then the two sit down together and take questions from the audience.
That mix is the draw. Neither man is doing a bit from his show. They are doing the thing they did before the shows.
LateNighter quotes Oliver, in a recent *60 Minutes* profile, calling the stand-up stage his "favorite place to be." Meyers put the point of the residency more plainly.
"The goal is for it to have a little bit more permanence than late night has." Seth Meyers, as quoted by LateNighter
That line is worth a second read. It is a late-night host describing a night out as sturdier than his day job.
The Room
The Beacon sits at 2124 Broadway, at 74th Street, on the Upper West Side. It opened on Christmas Eve 1929 and seats close to 2,900 across three levels, a big house that still works for one voice and a microphone. The September show in the photo above is from the same run.
What to Know Before You Go
After this Sunday, the remaining shows are November 22 and December 13, both Sundays at 7:30 p.m., per the ticketing page. The added dates went on sale back in May, so seats may be thin. Check the venue's own page for what remains, since listings on resale sites vary and some show placeholder prices.

Late night ends when the cameras go off. On Sunday at the Beacon, it starts again.
