Disco, Occasionally, Despacio Returns for Harry Styles's Halloween
Spotify and the sound system built by James Murphy and Soulwax throw an RSVP dance party on October 31, the night Styles closes his Garden residency
Spotify announced on October 22 a one-night dance party called Harryween, curated by Harry Styles and played through the Despacio sound system, somewhere in New York City on Saturday, October 31, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
The venue has not been named. Spotify says it will share the location closer to the date.
The party lands on the same night as the last of Styles's 30 shows at Madison Square Garden. He will not be at the party. He will be on stage at the Garden.
What Is Harryween?
Harryween is a one-night-only Halloween event, Spotify says, curated by Styles together with Spotify and Despacio. It is pitched as a disco party for fans across the city while he plays the final night of the residency.
The Garden's run began on August 26 and plays Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays through October 31, per MSG Entertainment's announcement.
Spotify says the party takes its cue from the dance floors and underground sounds that shaped his album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. That is the record behind the Garden shows.
What Is Despacio?
Despacio is a sound system, meaning the speakers and amplifiers themselves are the attraction. It was created by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and by David and Stephen Dewaele of Soulwax and 2manydjs, according to Spotify.
Spotify says the night brings Despacio to New York City for the first time in nearly a decade. For dancers who know the rig, that is the headline.
Despacio is a one-of-a-kind sound system made by music lovers for music lovers.
That is Styles in Spotify's release. "I'm so grateful they've invited us in," he added.
Ashley Graver, Spotify's Head of Global Artist Partnerships, framed the night as a way to carry the Garden outward. "What makes Harryween so special is the opportunity to extend this moment beyond the stage and give fans a completely different way to experience the music," she said.
How Do You Get In?
Top fans on Spotify received early invitations to RSVP. Public RSVPs are open now through Dice at link.dice.fm/harryween, according to Spotify's post.
RSVPs and entry are first come, first served and capped at venue capacity. An RSVP does not guarantee admission, Spotify says, so treat it as a place in line rather than a ticket.
What Else Is Happening That Night?
The residency is nearly done. MSG Entertainment's date list leaves October 23, 24, 28, 30 and 31, and it calls the run Styles's only U.S. dates of 2026. For more on the residency and the filmmaker working the room, see Thirty Nights on Film, John Wilson Shoots Harry Styles at the Garden.
Halloween is crowded downtown, too. The Village Halloween Parade steps off at 7 p.m. that same Saturday, as we reported in Bones on Sixth Avenue, the Village Halloween Parade Picks Body & Soul. Murphy's own band returns in November, a separate story told in The Hundredth Night, LCD Soundsystem Returns to Queens and Brooklyn.
What to Know Before You Go
The party runs Saturday, October 31, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Eastern. The address is still to come, so watch Spotify's channels. RSVP through Dice and arrive early, because capacity decides the night.
Styles plays the Garden at eight, and the dance floor plays on without him. Halloween in New York gets a second room.
